Could your fire department improve incident communications? Would you like a method of tracking units that provides a stronger accountability structure? Would your department benefit from a well-organized deployment of resources?
Emergency Response Strategies has created an approach based on NIMS to help address these challenges – TotalCommand. Learn the system that allowed other fire departments to see a dramatic increase in fireground organization and a reduced amount of fireground radio traffic, while increasing effective communication and fireground safety.
Through an innovative, hands-on training program, participants act as command, division leaders and operating companies to experience thirty unique training scenarios designed to simulate variables encountered on the fireground. Taught by experienced instructors, TotalCommand is recommended for anyone who can act in command on the fireground, training officers, and fire training instructors.
“The scenarios are the best part of the class. They allow interaction with each other and make people think how they would react if they were the incident commander.” Previous TotalCommand attendee
This methodology is designed to provide a consistent organizational approach for any type of response—big or small. By employing this methodology for every call, your department will be well-equipped to handle more complex calls that require intense organization and accountability.
Learn all aspects of incident command including:
- Use of divisions and groups
- Proper communication techniques
- Methods to track units
- Transitional attack
- Emergency Procedures
At the conclusion of the class, each participant will be given materials with all of the information learned during the session, the scenarios run, and the command techniques trained during the sessions, enabling participants to teach their departments this approach.
“I enjoyed networking and critiquing each incident to learn other ways of doing things.” Previous TotalCommand attendee
